Busy, Busy

Como estan mi Familia!  Muchas Gracias for the Thanksgiving package.  I got it on Wed...just in time.  Mom your cupcakes are right up there with icing on the cake.  We DEFINITELY Enjoyed/are Enjoying those.  I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving.   You letters definitely made mine.  It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.  Las Familias aqui try and make us feel loved/at home.

This week was Crazy.  Anybody an expert on Mouse hunting.  We discovered one morning the creature we were tricked into thinking was fleas actually was a lovely mouse.  One morning we were studying and heard something crawling in the sink.  We creep in and this black mouse which i thought was a rat goes running accross the counter.  We start screaming oh my gosh i know ridiculous but Hna Cope and I tend to feed off eachother.  We jump on our chairs and the phone is ringing so we pick it up.  Its the Primary asking us to lead singing time in Primary.  Then some time passes and the phone rings again and it is the first counselor asking us to give talks...then the phone rings again and it is Sister Miller Presdient Millers Wife, and we go to get it and Hna Cope sees the mouse again starts screaming, then I start screaming then we are both standing on our chairs again...she answers so we have to compose ourselves.

Hna Cope received a call the night before Thanksgiving from President telling her Her Grandma had taken a turn for the worst and would probably only live a couple more weeks.  Awful news to receive right before Thanksgiving.  She is really close to her Grandma so this is obviously not easy.  Ironically we had just gotten back from teaching this awesome family the Plan of Salvation.  What an incredible blessing it is to know why we are here and where we are going.  It gives us so much hope, such an eternal perspective.  Hna Cope is one strong girl let me tell you.  She has so much faith.  So that morning of craziness the call from Sister Miller was telling her Her family was going to call and let her talk to her Grandma for probably the last time.  So, from screaming to tears...She said her goodbyes for now and we sang her a hymn in Spanish.  There is a Plan for each one of us.  I know it.  The Spirit communicates that to me so much...there is purpose in everything even though we don't see it now.   SO Hna Cope is doing well...the work keeps us busy and focused.  It can be slow at times but that is the life as a Missionary I assume.

Noemi came to church again Wohoo!  It is so cool to see even a little result of your heartfelt efforts.  The word that rings in my head always now is paciencia...with myself, and with the people we teach.  Patience with answers to our prayers...everything requires patience.  And patience is HARD.  We found a family of six this week as well.  They welcomed us in and all sat at the table to learn.  The Parents only speak spanish and some of the kids are more comfortable with English.  So again we ended up splitting into two lessons and I taught the kids.  Esmeranda the 9 year old was so curious.  Her Grandpa just passed away so she wanted to know where he was.  It is incredible to be able to explain with such clarity and logicality exactly where he is.  I am learning all these awesome ways to teach kids..object lessons..visual ways to learn the SIMPLE truths of the Gospel..Hna Cope is such a good teacher..ive learned a lot from her.  THis is the last week of the Transfer so I HOPE we get to stay together for Christmas but something i've learned is God gives us what we need not necessarily what we want.   So whatever happens, happens.  Anyways I was explaining the BOM to Esmeranda and she just looked at me and said, it is true.  I want to read it.  Some Kids just recognize...just know.  It is so interesting.  She was very clear she wanted a BOM in English so we went and got one for her.  We will see what happens because the family is so Catolico!!! Figures...they see something that makes sense yet they just can't abandon their roots.  I see the conflict in these peoples minds every day!

Oh about Thanksgiving, We had like 3...decided to drop off cards to our investigators before our actual Thanksgiving apt...maybe not the smartest of ideas.  Amalia was cooking up a mexican Thanksgiving storm and insisited we sit and eat..haha so we Had to otherwise we would have offended her.  We managaed to take some to-go plates hahaha  That was interesting.  Spicy turkey...spaghetti...beans...mexican rice.  No fried turkey.  Then we went and had an American Thanksgiving...then to another Investigator just to visit.  She wanted to feed us too but we insisted we were just too full.  So...don't worry about me starving.  Oh my goodness.

Well, Thanks so much for all your little notes.  Really made my day.

Love you lots.  Te Quiero!!

Muchas Gracias por todo!
