Quick Update

Hola Familia!  Happy President's Day!  I hope you are all doing well.  I don't have much time so I will just give you a quick update.

This work is so cool.  Exchanges in Santa Fe were incredible.   I was with Hna Jardine in Santa Fe and I fell in LOVE with the people most of which seem to be from Guatemala.  Hna Jardine has spent some time in Guatemala so she told me all about it...also wants to go to Jerusalem really bad so I shared some stories with her.  She also helped me out with Spanish MUCHAS GRACIAS :)  I found a forever friend after just one day.  Oh and TAMARRA is in GEORGIA haha:)  Right in the heart of it...says it is quite the experience.

Anyways, ever since I got back from Santa Fe I was so happy...I couldn't quite explain it.  Hna Jarmen had an incredible day in Bernalillo when I was gone and things all of a sudden just felt different.  We had just finished our 40 day fast in the branch as well.  There really is an added power in this work lately.  It is incredible.  We are trying so hard to help our investigators progress.  And we are REALLY trying to get our investigators to church...including a cinamon roll church round up...knocking on the doors and windows to wake them up...you got to do what you got to do.  Church is SO important.

I have time for one quick experience.  Last night, we were teaching an older woman named Marta.  Miracle really that she let us in, we've been trying to teach her for a while.  In the beginning she expressed her concern of being able to understand us.  I had the thought that we should say a prayer to ask Heavenly Father that he would help us to be able to learn from each other through the Spirit because Marta can't read.  So, we stopped and said a prayer.  Then we went on to teach the Plan of Salvation.  Hna Jarman and I have never taught so clearly and in unity as we did last night.  Of course our Spanish wasn't perfect but it came so much easier than it does other times.  And Marta understood us which is the important thing.  She is very unhealthy, and is waiting for test results back about cancer...watching Mom go through that I could somewhat relate not personally but second-hand.  It is cool how personal experiences come to your mind as you try to do everything you can to promise blessings of the Gospel.

I know this Gospel is true.  I have felt a different kind of hapiness from the work this week.  And I know the Lord is blessing his work here.  Sometimes, I wonder how we end up where we do...in the home of the Catholic Father of the Bernalillo Catholic Church...but Heavenly Father really does guide our steps as long as we are trying and listening.  I love you all so much.  I love these people...and I barely know them.  But something about pouring your testimony out to a stranger who may look like he doesn't want to listen, makes you realize how much that person is loved. And that every single one of us have problems.  And the Gospel of Jesus Christ can help EVERY single person.  That is the beauty of it.  The reality of it.

I love you all so much.  LES QUIERO MUCHO!  Gracias por todo.

Remember what matters.

Adios from Santa Fe (I love Santa Fe by the way) and I am going to Guatemala with Hna Jardine:)  someday.  I will write more next time...there is so much to tell but I don't have much time.  If there is anything I can do for any of you please let me know.  I am just a letter away.

Con todo de mi amor,
Hermana Holland
